David and Goliath

P.S. Somehow it is funny that the Gromina's top row of keys is on the level with the first row of the Studio...

  1. Thanks for illustrating my fantasy!

These really are radically different typewriters. A fine illustration of the diversity in our favorite kingdom of machines.

  2. Thank you for the fine review. I do know if I had a Groma Gromina it would be one of my travel machines. I can't imagine taking my Studio 44 anyplace but around my house.

I love the contrast of the 2 machines side by side.

    1. Its serial number places the machine in the "dark territory" between 1957 and 1964 - middle of the production period anyway. Maybe the perspective exaggerates a bit the size of the case.

    2. It's more the pretty red covering on the case. Mine have all been plain yellowish material.

    3. Funnily enough all the Studio 44s I saw (not that I saw too many of them ;) ) were in these red cases.
