To paint or not to paint...

P.S.

  1. Great paint job and a nice Seiko diver too. 6309, I think, but I'm not well versed in Seiko models.

    1. Thank you.

Yes - 6309 - beautifully simple and simply beautiful :)

  2. Nice paint! I may be a little biased, however, by the fact that green and gold are the team colors of the university where I work. Go Blazers! http://www.uabsports.com

    1. Thank you! Technically it is a definite yellow but I'm sure it would look very nice in that Blazers' gold.

Also it crossed my mind - since this typewriter was made in Holland - to put some certain green leaf ;) stickers on both sides... :D

  3. Those are also the colors of John Deere tractors. Not long ago on eBay there was a "John Deere" repainted Smith-Corona -- green and yellow, with the Deere logo. I think no one wanted it! But your Royalite is beautiful.

    1. Thank you. I wasn't aware of the John Deere connection :)

  4. Years ago I had a very strange typewriter dream that involved a whole array of typewriters painted in John Deere colours, as Mr Polt pointed out these represent. A bit of a dream come true for me I suppose, haha!

    1. If only it was not a horror dream... :) Ha! Now I am a sort of tractor specialist - whenever I see one in these colours in an American movie I knowingly point at it and say: "That's a John Deere!". Things you learn on Typosphere...

    2. All typewriter dreams are nightmares because you never end up with a single one you saw in the dream. XD

...I think your comment here is one of my favourites of all typosphere time. I just love it. Have fun Deerespotting. ;)

  5. Definite improvement on the royalite's look. Rather than a $20machine, it now looks like a$100 machine
