That is gorgeous. I wish they'd added the two extra keys in the United States earlier. I think it improves the appearance of an already spectacularly-good-looking typewriter. :D
That's a fine model that I haven't found yet in the wild. I'm still resisting the ebay route. I'm glad you've found such nice ones and are able to take care of them.
I have a '36 flat-top Standard model and it's a beautiful machine to look at. Typing-wise, it's a little rough, but that's part of its charm. Mine has the glossy black paint job. It's overall design looks to me like a cross between George Gershwin's piano and a Depression-era Ford sedan. Just wonderful. Congrats on a nice typewriter.

ReplyDeleteIndeed these two additional buttons make the typewriter look complete.
DeleteVery nice typewriters. The burgundy one is fabulous.
ReplyDeleteSomehow that colour makes a significant difference. Not that the black one looks bad though :)

ReplyDeleteI would guess that you have much better chance to find one of these in good nick in the States that we (on the other side of the pond) do.

ReplyDeleteThank you. Yes - the piano analogy is spot on. And I'm glad you subscribe to my "two (substitute any number here) as one" ideology here... ;)
